Welcome to Class 6
Class 6 are a friendly bunch of creative and thoughtful children who love to learn. Our teachers are Miss Henshaw and Mrs Hooley and our teaching assistant is Mrs Western. Miss Henshaw works on a Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday and Mrs Hooley works on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mrs Weston works Monday-Friday. We enjoy lots of fantastic learning experiences and every day our skills are improving! We do daily lessons in Maths, English and Phonics and have lots of opportunities to enhance and enrich our learning in our Continuous Provision areas. During our learning we have opportunities to discover indoors and outdoors.
On our webpage you will find updates on our learning and important information. This will also be communicated on Class Dojo where regular updates will be shared, so please make sure you are connected. You can see an overview of our learning throughout the year here.
You can find our "Welcome to Year 1" Powerpoint from our Open Evening here.
You can see our long term curriculum overview in Year 1 by clicking HERE. Please note this was updated in the middle of the 2021/22 academic year.
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please remember to come in PE kits, tie long hair back and take out or tape up earrings.
The children take part in reading activities every day and are expected to have their reading book and reading record with them every day. We really appreciate all the help and support you give your child reading with them at home – it makes a huge difference to their learning.
