Packed Lunches - Healthy Lunchboxes & No‑Nut Policy

Promoting Healthy Eating

At Ladycross we encourage healthy eating to support children’s learning, concentration, and overall wellbeing. A balanced lunch helps children stay focused and ready to enjoy their afternoon learning.

What to include in a healthy lunchbox

A nutritious lunch might contain:

  • A main item such as a sandwich, wrap, pasta or rice pot
  • Fruit and/or vegetables
  • A dairy item (yoghurt, cheese, milk drink)
  • A healthy snack such as crackers, rice cakes or malt loaf
  • Water (recommended) or a low‑sugar drink

Items to avoid

To promote healthy habits, please avoid sending:

  • Sweets, chocolate bars or confectionery
  • Fizzy or energy drinks
  • Large bags of crisps
  • Cakes and biscuits as the main part of lunch

An occasional small treat is fine, but the majority of the lunchbox should be nutritious.

Our NO‑NUT Policy

To keep all children safe, we operate a strict no‑nut policy due to severe nut allergies within school. Even small traces of nuts can cause a serious reaction.

Please do not send in:

  • Peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches
  • Cereal bars or biscuits containing nuts
  • Chocolates or spreads containing nuts
  • Trail mix or mixed nuts
  • Items labelled “contains nuts” (and where possible, “may contain nuts”)

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

Thank You for Your Support

Your cooperation helps us create:

  • A healthy lunchtime experience
  • A safe, nut‑free school environment
  • Positive habits that benefit children for life

If you have any questions about lunchboxes, allergies or dietary needs, please contact the school office—we’re always happy to help.
